Frequently Asked Questions

How do I change the pitch of a song?

Upload the track, drag the semitone slider up or down (each step is one semitone), preview, and download. The tempo and length stay exactly the same — only the pitch and key change.

What is a semitone?

One semitone is the distance between adjacent piano keys. Twelve semitones make one octave. Shifting +2 semitones raises a song by a whole tone; -12 drops it a full octave.

Does duration change with pitch?

No. The tool uses phase-vocoder pitch-shifting so playback length stays the same — unlike simply speeding up or slowing down audio, which changes both pitch and duration together.

Can I make a voice deeper or higher?

Yes. Shift down a few semitones for a deeper voice or up for a higher one — useful for voiceovers, character voices, anonymizing a recording, or nightcore-style edits.

How far can I shift?

You can shift between -24 and +24 semitones (two octaves down or up). Extreme values may sound artifact-heavy.

What formats work?

Upload MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, M4A, or AAC. Output is WAV, FLAC, or OGG.
