What is the contrast score?

As a rule of thumb, a dark subject pops on a bright saturated background like yellow or cyan, and a bright subject pops on a deep navy or near-black. Why does my thumbnail blend into the feed?
Usually because the background sits at a similar brightness to your subject, so at sidebar size the two merge into one shape. Anything under a contrast ratio of about 3.0 tends to look muddy when scaled down. Aim for a top suggestion above 4.5 and the subject stays readable at any size.
How do I check contrast between my subject and background?
