Travel montage maker. Give your trip a rhythm.
Bring the trip clips you have chosen and a music track you can use. Beat Edits times the cuts to the track and builds a short recap on an editable timeline, so you can review the pace, the framing and the ending before you export.
You bring: selected trip clips or photos, and a music track. You get: a montage on an editable timeline to review and refine.
Destination · longer holdShot 5 of 6
Place the high point where the music lifts.
A trip sequence, shot by shot
An illustrated plan for a short recap, built from six stills of a sample travel recording. Each shot has a job, and the job decides how long it stays on screen.
1ArrivalLonger hold · 5 beats
Wide view of the place
Opens on where you are. Give the skyline enough time to be recognised before the cuts speed up.
2MovementShort · 2 beats
Walking into the market
Movement carries the viewer in. A short shot is enough when the direction of travel reads at once.
3Local detailShort run · 2 beats
Close on the fruit stalls
A close detail changes the scale after two wider shots. Paired with the movement shot, it makes a quick run on a busier part of the track.
4PeopleMedium hold · 4 beats
A pause at the café
Let a face register. Keep the shot long enough for the expression or the action to land.
5DestinationLonger hold · 5 beats
The bridge at sunset
The high point of the trip. Place it where the music lifts and keep it on screen long enough to be seen.
6Closing viewFinal hold · 6 beats
The city at night
End on a view, not mid-action. Let it run into the end of the track instead of cutting it dead.
The same plan as one 24-beat phrase
Beat counts are relative, to compare one shot with another. There is no single right montage length, and not every beat needs a cut.
A cut between two shots

How to make a travel montage with Beat Edits
- 1
Choose usable clips
Pick a mix of wide views, movement, details and people. Add at least two clips or photos, in the order you plan them to play.
- 2
Choose the track
Upload music you are allowed to publish, or choose one from the built-in library. Listen for where the energy lifts and where it can end.
- 3
Create the montage
Run Beat Edits. Cut on the hits is on by default; turn it off to cut on a steady BPM grid. Style, Energy, Motion and Length change the result, and Sync to the drop is offered when a drop is detected.
- 4
Inspect and refine
Play it with sound. Compare the order and timing Cubix produced with your plan, adjust individual cuts on the timeline, and use Revert if you want the state before the pass.
Your plan is the set of clips and the order you add them in. The montage is what Beat Edits returns. Compare the two before you refine, rather than assuming every shot kept its place.

Check the framing and the ending
Beat Edits times the cuts to the track. Whether the recap reads well is a review job: play it through with sound and look for these.
- Vary the angles. Two similar framings in a row read as a stutter, not a cut.
- Keep horizons level and crops intentional, especially in a vertical frame.
- Give faces and landmarks enough time to register.
- Look for abrupt joins: a jump in brightness, direction or motion between shots.
- Check what happened to sound recorded on the clips, and set it the way you want it on the timeline.
- Watch the final shot with the last bars of the music. End on a resolution, not mid-phrase.
Which shots open and close the recap is your plan to make, and to check against whatever the first pass returns.

Travel montage FAQs
Is a travel montage the same as a travel vlog?
No. A travel montage is a short recap carried by music: places, movement and moments cut to a track, usually without narration. A vlog tells the trip as a story, often with you speaking to camera across days or locations. For a narrated or day-by-day edit, start with the vlog editing page instead.
What footage and music do I need?
At least two video clips or photos and one music track. A mix of wide views, movement, close details and people gives the montage more to work with than many similar shots. Upload music you are allowed to publish, or choose a track from the built-in library.
Can I change the pace or the cuts after the first pass?
Yes. Switch between Cut on the hits and a steady BPM grid, or change Style, Energy, Motion or Length, and Cubix rebuilds the montage from its source shots. You can also adjust individual cuts on the timeline, or use Revert to return to the state before the pass.
Should a travel montage be vertical or landscape?
Choose the frame for where it will be watched: vertical for Reels, Shorts and TikTok, landscape for YouTube or a larger screen. Shots filmed for a different frame may need cropping or reframing, so check horizons, faces and landmarks in every shot of the finished montage before you export.
What do I need to start and export?
You can open Cubix and explore the editor before selecting a plan. Current plans, trial availability and billing details are listed on the pricing page. Creator supports exports up to 1080p and Pro supports exports up to 4K.
Your next video doesn’t need hours of editing.
