What is a caption style?

A caption style is the visual treatment of on-screen speech text: typeface, color, outline, background, position, highlighting, and animation. It is not the transcript. Cubix Caption Styles lets you pick a look from 43 built-in presets, then adjust caption flow, highlight color, and word animation without regenerating the captions.

A default subtitle track makes good footage look unfinished. The same line in Viral Orange Box, Hormozi Gold, or Clean White reads as a different edit. Caption Styles is the pass that chooses that feel after the words are already timed.

    Presets sit in Viral, Highlight, Bold, Minimal, Neon, Retro, and Fun. Featured tiles include Viral Orange Box, Viral Yellow Pop, MrBeast Energy, and Hormozi Gold.

    Fonts, color, outline, and background

    Fine-tune typeface, weight, size, fill, stroke, glow, drop shadow, and background padding from the Design panel.

    Karaoke and word highlighting

    Caption flow can be Standard, Karaoke, or Podcast. Karaoke highlights the current word using the word timings already on the caption.

    Word animation

    Apply a word animation such as Word Pop, Slam, Bounce, Fade, Typewriter, or Slide In. The animation is a look, not a new transcript.

    Position on the frame

    Drag captions on the canvas. Size and placement stay with the style so they are not rebuilt per line.

How to style captions in Cubix

    Start from captions that already exist

    Generate them with Auto Captions, upload an SRT, or open a project that already has subtitles. Caption Styles does not transcribe speech.

    Open Design and pick a look

    Browse featured looks or filter by Viral, Highlight, Bold, Minimal, Neon, Retro, or Fun. One click applies the preset to every caption line.

  3. 3

    Set caption flow

    Standard accumulates words. Karaoke highlights the active word. Podcast pages by phrase, with words-per-phrase and lines-on-screen controls.

  4. 4

    Tune highlight, animation, and type

    Turn highlight on or off, pick text and highlight colors, choose a word animation, then open Fine-tune text for font, stroke, and background.

Active-word emphasis. Karaoke itself is a caption-flow mode.

Karaoke flow uses word-level timings from transcription. An uploaded SRT is usually line-timed, so karaoke is strongest on captions Cubix generated.

Word animations include Word Pop, Drop In, Spin In, Slam, Bounce, Rise, Blur In, Flip Up, Fade, Slide In, Typewriter, Wave, and Pop Chars. They animate the existing caption text.

Yes. Fine-tune text covers font, weight, size, fill, stroke, background, glow, and shadow. You can also drag captions on the canvas.

Yes for look, color, and type. Karaoke highlighting is strongest when captions include word-level timings. An SRT is typically timed by line.

No. Captions are synchronized speech text. Text & Overlays are titles, shapes, and stickers you place by hand. They are different layers with different jobs.

Yes. A preset applies to every caption line in the project. Match titles and a logo overlay in Brand Styles. Cubix does not auto-load a saved kit onto new projects — reapply the same looks.

SRT download is the text and timing. Visual style is burned into the video export, not into the SRT.
