Identify the actual file and destination
Choose the version you intend to deliver, export the video, and open that file for review. A timeline preview, project JSON or completed editing request is not the final video file. Check current requirements for the intended destination. The requests below are instructional examples to adapt to your available footage, not tested recipes. Upload the source first, replace the placeholders, and review every change. The editing CTA opens editor Home; copy the request into your project after setup.
Watch the whole exported video with sound
Listen from start to finish. Check complete opening and closing words, natural joins, narration, music and any unintended silent gaps. Watch again at the intended viewing size to inspect captions and screen details.
Check captions and the content inside the frame
Compare names, numbers and technical terms with the source. Check timing and text placement. Keep faces and required screen controls visible; use the frame that suits the actual content and destination, rather than forcing every clip into 9:16.
Correct a cut-off ending only from available source
Replace [actual last source words] with the recorded ending. Confirm the source actually contains the complete final word. If that source is available in the project, make a supported correction; otherwise return to the original recording.
Rewatch the new boundary and exported ending. A prompt or trim handle cannot restore footage that was never recorded or is absent from the project.
Lower music where it masks the speaker
Replace [actual source words] with the affected passage and identify the music item. The request is an example, not a verified conversation adjustment. For a manual correction, select the music item and use its audio-level controls; a whole-clip adjustment affects the whole item.
Copy and adapt this request after uploading the relevant footage.
Listen before, during and after the passage. Use the Volume curve controls when a local adjustment is needed, then rewatch the export. There is no universal percentage or dB difference that guarantees a clear mix; level changes do not remove noise or restore damaged speech.
Resolve failures and record the delivered version
Use the checklist on the actual exported file. Choose an editor correction, source review or another export according to the failure, then check the corrected file again. Keep a handover record outside Cubix: filename, destination, reviewer, unresolved issue and reviewed version. Upload/publication is a separate action.
| Check | Pass condition | Failure | Next action |
|---|---|---|---|
| Speech boundaries | Complete words at the start and end | The last word is cut off | Source review: confirm the complete ending exists; correct and re-export if available. |
| Caption text | Names and terms agree with the source | A product name is misspelled | Editor correction: update subtitle text/timing, re-export and rewatch. |
| Framing | People and required screen details remain readable | A needed control is cropped out | Editor correction: adjust framing; re-export and inspect the intended viewing size. |
| Audio mix | Speech is understandable with the chosen music | Music masks the speaker | Editor correction: lower the music item or adjust its volume curve; listen to the joins. |
| Playback | The file plays completely and matches the edit | Playback stops or a needed frame is missing | Review: compare the project and source, make the needed correction and re-export; investigate a persistent export failure. |
| Version | The file is the version reviewed for delivery | An older draft was selected | Review: identify the correct project/version, export it and inspect that file. |
- Record which exact filename and version you reviewed.
- Check the destination upload preview for framing and text placement.
- Resolve or record outstanding issues before handover.
- Rewatch the actual file after any edit or new export.
✖ Uploading exported short videos without listening to the full audio track.
Why it fails: Audio glitches or cut-off ending words damage audience impression.
✔ Better approach: Watch every rendered video from start to finish with headphones or speakers.
✖ Ignoring subtitle misspellings on proper names and brand terms.
Why it fails: Incorrect caption text confuses viewers and reduces brand trust.
✔ Better approach: Verify all names against verified text sources in Cubix caption controls.
✖ Using a crop that hides required screen content.
Why it fails: Viewers lose the controls or visual explanation they need.
✔ Better approach: Review framing at the intended viewing size and keep a wider view when needed.
