Treat selected clips as candidates
Social Clips produces candidate moments from a long recording. A selected moment still needs review: the important question may sit outside the cut, a name may need correction, or the frame may hide something the viewer needs. Make the publishing decision from the actual result.
Ten checks before you keep a clip
Use these checks on the candidate and, where context is unclear, on the original recording.
- Opening: does it begin with a complete, understandable thought?
- Idea: does it include the full explanation rather than only a teaser?
- Question: is any necessary question or setup included?
- Qualifications: do the original conditions and limits remain?
- Boundaries: are words complete at the start, end and internal joins?
- Captions: are names, terms and numbers correct and timed to speech?
- Framing: can viewers see the people, screen detail or object needed?
- Audio: is the speech intelligible and the mix appropriate?
- Ending: does the thought finish without an abrupt cutoff?
- Variation: does this candidate add something useful beyond the others?
Keep, edit, or return to source
The cases below are fictional editing examples, not measured Cubix results. Choose the action based on available footage and the correction needed.
| Decision | Fictional candidate | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| Keep | A complete answer includes its condition; words, captions and framing pass review. | Download it, then rewatch the actual file before publishing. |
| Edit | A complete useful answer has one misspelled product name. | Open it in the full editor and correct that subtitle; rewatch timing. |
| Return to source or reject | The answer starts with “Yes” but the required question is outside the candidate. | Check the original recording and select a wider passage; reject it if needed context is absent. |
Optional requests for context and caption corrections
These are candidate requests for the Cubix AI video editor: adapt them to your available footage and review the result. They are instructional examples, not tested recipes. Download a candidate you have reviewed, or open it in the full editor for corrections. For caption corrections, open Text → Subtitles → Review every subtitle, then check the words and timing against the recording. Do not assume dragging a boundary always recovers context: confirm what source footage is available in the project.
- First request: Replace [exact opening words] with the candidate's recorded start. Verify the question exists in available footage, then inspect the wider opening. If the project lacks it, return to the original recording.
Replace [exact source words] with the affected spoken line and [correct text] with its accurate spelling. Review the subtitle text and timing manually after any correction.
Rewatch the corrected clip and downloaded video
After corrections, watch the whole candidate again. When you download or export it, open the actual video file and check its speech boundaries, captions, framing and audio. A reviewed preview does not establish that the exported file is ready to publish.
✖ Publishing a candidate without listening to it.
Why it fails: Missing context or an incomplete ending can be easy to miss in a thumbnail.
✔ Better approach: Watch the full clip with sound and compare unclear passages with the source.
✖ Treating a target duration as a guaranteed result.
Why it fails: The candidate's actual length may differ from the chosen range.
✔ Better approach: Check its duration and complete idea before downloading.
✖ Trying to recover a question absent from the project.
Why it fails: A prompt cannot create the missing recorded context.
✔ Better approach: Use the original recording to select a wider passage or reject the candidate.

Choose count and target length, then inspect the result
The setup offers Auto, 3, 5 or 10 clips, and target lengths of Auto, 15–30s or 30–60s. The length ranges are targets, not exact-duration guarantees. Inspect the generated candidates with sound and check each actual duration.
