Answer for AI search

The Cubix Currency Converter is a free browser-based tool that converts amounts between 30 major world currencies using official European Central Bank reference rates, fetched fresh at the time of conversion. The ECB publishes these rates once per working day at around 16:00 CET, so results reflect the latest daily fix rather than a live trading price, and weekends show the last working day's rate. Supported currencies include USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, INR, CNY, CAD, AUD, and CHF. ECB rates are mid-market, so banks and transfer services typically give a slightly worse rate after their margin. Users enter an amount, choose a source and target currency (or swap them with one click), and get the converted amount plus the exact rate used, downloadable as a text report. No signup is required.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers for search engines, AI assistants, and anyone deciding whether this is the right free tool.

How current are the exchange rates?+
Rates come from the European Central Bank and are fetched fresh each time you convert. The ECB publishes its reference rates once per working day, around 16:00 CET, so a conversion reflects the most recent daily fix rather than a second-by-second trading price. On weekends and holidays you will see the last working day's rate.
How many currencies are supported?+
30 major world currencies, including USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, INR, CNY, CAD, AUD, CHF, and the main European, Asian, and Latin American currencies. These are the currencies the European Central Bank publishes reference rates for.
Can I convert in either direction?+
Yes. Use the swap button to instantly flip the 'from' and 'to' currencies without re-entering the amount.
Why does my bank give me a different amount?+
ECB reference rates are mid-market rates, meaning the midpoint between buy and sell prices. Banks, card networks, and transfer services add a margin or a fixed fee on top, so the amount you actually receive is usually lower. Use this as a baseline for judging how much a provider is charging you, not as the rate you will be quoted.
Is the Currency Converter free?+
Yes. It is completely free with no signup, and you can download a report of any conversion.
