Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate what percent one number is of another?

Divide the part by the whole and multiply by 100. For example, 30 out of 200 is (30 ÷ 200) × 100 = 15%. The calculator does this instantly — just enter both numbers.

How is percentage change calculated?

Percentage change is (new value − old value) ÷ old value × 100. A change from 100 to 150 is a 50% increase; from 150 to 100 is a 33.3% decrease.

What is a reverse percentage?

A reverse percentage finds the original amount before a percentage was applied — for example, the price before a 20% discount. Enter the final amount and the percentage to get the starting value.

How precise are the results?

Results are shown with up to 6 significant decimal places, which is accurate enough for financial, scientific, and everyday calculations. You can copy any result to your clipboard.

Is the Percentage Calculator free?

Yes. It is completely free with no signup, and every calculation runs entirely in your browser.
