What are video effects?
Video effects are visual treatments you apply to a clip: filters, stylized looks, and short motion effects at the start or end of a shot. In Cubix they live in Looks. A filter changes the picture on that clip. A workflow like Cinematic Look grades the whole edit. Use Video Effects when you want one shot to feel different from the rest.
One shot. Different moods.
The same take can read as documentary, damaged tape, or a quiet close-up depending on the treatment. Video Effects is for that clip-level choice — not for matching every shot to one film grade.

How to add effects to a video in Cubix

Select the clip
Effects belong to a shot, not the whole timeline. Click the clip you want to treat.

Open Looks and pick a Style
Choose Original to leave it clean, or a look such as Black & White, Vignette, or Bad TV. The picture updates on that clip.

Add motion if the join needs it
On the Motion tab, apply Fade In, Fade Out, Zoom, Blur, or Pixelate at the start, the end, or both, then set duration.

Keep or reset
Preview the shot against its neighbors. Reset the look if it fights the rest of the edit, or leave it as a local accent.

Creator videos
A flash, shake, or Bad TV hit on one punchline is an effect. Grading the whole talking head is a different job.
Marketing videos
Product shots sometimes need a local overlay or blur. Campaign-wide color still belongs on Cinematic Look.

Video effects FAQs
Video effects are clip-level visual treatments: Style looks such as Black & White or Vignette, Motion fades and zooms, and scene overlays. They are not a project-wide color grade.
In Cubix, Style looks are CSS filter treatments on the clip — Black & White, Blur, Vignette. People often call those filters. Motion and overlays are also effects, but they change time or add a layer rather than only recoloring the picture.
Cinematic Look is a workflow that grades every visual clip from its own footage. Video Effects changes one clip you pick. Use effects for a local mood. Use Cinematic Look when the whole edit should share a cinematic finish.
Make It Pop is a subject-aware workflow: glow, punch-ins, and depth on the person. Video Effects is the library of named clip looks and motion treatments. They can sit on the same timeline; they are not the same control.

No. Style looks are applied or reset. Motion treatments have a duration control and an Apply at setting.
No. Apply the Camera Shake look and it treats the clip as a Style filter. Diamond Zoom and Shake work the same way. They are not keyframed camera motion and they do not shake the picture on the beat. For punch-ins, use Zoom Curves. Beat-synced shake lives in other workflows.
