Make your subject impossible to miss.
Cubix finds the main person in your footage and applies subject-aware visual emphasis — a rim glow, punch-ins aimed at them, depth, and motion accents — while leaving the underlying cut, clip order, and duration intact.

Subject leads the frame
What are subject-aware video effects?
Subject-aware video effects first identify or isolate the main person in a frame, then use that subject position or mask to apply visual treatments selectively. That makes it possible to emphasize the subject without applying the same treatment uniformly across the entire frame. Cubix Make It Pop combines those subject-aware treatments into one editable workflow.
Same frame. More focus.
The same shot, before and after Make It Pop. The cut does not change. The person in it becomes the thing the eye lands on — glow around them, punch-ins aimed at them, depth pulling toward them.
Before
AfterSame frame. Drag to see the subject take the picture.
Effects that know where the subject is.
A normal video effect treats the whole rectangle. Make It Pop finds the person first, then lets glow, punch-ins, and motion accents respond to that subject instead of washing the entire frame.
Whole-frame effectEffect applied to the rectangle
Everything changes. The person does not get a special pass — the background is treated the same way they are.
Subject-aware effectEffect driven by the subject
Identify the person, then let glow, punch, and depth respond to them. That is why this workflow exists instead of applying a Video Effects look.
What Make It Pop actually applies
- 01
Finds the person in the frame
On-device person segmentation locates the main subject. If the shot is a green screen, Cubix can also apply a chroma key. The green-screen step is automatic and read-only — it reports what the footage was, it is not a dial.
- 02
Lights them with a subject glow
A coloured rim follows the subject silhouette, with a chromatic fringe so it reads as an edit rather than a light. Default is Strong, cyan with a pink fringe. Colour is Cyan, Pink, Lime, Gold, or White. Brightness is a live slider.
- 03
Punches in on the person, not the centre
Punch zooms land on audio transients and aim at the subject’s position when a matte is available. Strength is Soft, Medium, or Hard. Default is Medium. Silent or still clips skip this stage instead of inventing hits.
- 04
Ghost trail on the punch moments
A short subject echo trails the person on the same moments as the punch-ins. It is a toggle. It needs those punch times, so it does not run on stills or clips with nothing to hit.
- 05
Adds a depth look
The pass turns on 3D depth at Tilt 3D by default. After it lands you can switch to Hologram or AR HUD, or turn depth off. These are clip looks in the same workflow, not a separate effects panel.
- 06
Keeps the subject in front of text
When text layers are already on the timeline, Make It Pop can composite the subject over them. No text layers means this stage reports that and moves on. Film grain and an anamorphic lens flare finish the pass and can be toggled off.
How Make It Pop works
- 1
Add your footage
Upload a video or a still. Make It Pop needs a picture on the timeline. Recording inside Cubix is not part of this workflow.
- 2
Run Make It Pop
Cubix locates the subject, then applies the stack: glow, subject-aimed punch-ins when there are moments to hit, ghost trail, Tilt 3D, a center-pull look, grain, and flare. Existing cuts, clip order, and duration stay put.
- 3
Review and refine
The result opens as ordinary timeline edits. Magic Edits exposes the real Make It Pop card: separate subject, punch strength, glow colour, ghost trail, depth look, center-pull, grain, and flare. Revert restores the starting timeline.
- “Turn the ghost trail off.”
- “Use a softer punch.”
- “Turn off film grain.”
- “Use hologram instead of tilt 3D.”
The subject becomes the control layer.
Source picture feeds a subject mask and position. Glow, punch-ins, and motion accents branch from that — they are not a second grade on the whole frame.

Make It Pop runs with defaults, then opens the Magic Edits card. These are the actual rows in that card — not a separate intake strip.
Separation strength
How hard the subject glow reads. Default is Strong.
Punch strength
How far a subject-aimed punch-in pushes. Default is Medium.
Depth look
3D depth preset on the clip. Default is Tilt 3D.
Glow colour is a swatch row: Cyan, Pink, Lime, Gold, White. Brightness is a slider. Center-pull look is Soft or Strong.
Also on the card after it lands
- Separate subject
- Subject ghost trail
- Subject over text
- Center-pull look
- Film grain
- Lens flare
- Glow colour + brightness
Cubix adds the effect. You keep the layers.
Nothing here recuts the timeline. Every stage is a clip treatment you can turn off, restyle, or revert.
Cubix handles
- Person segmentation for the main subject
- Green-screen key when a green screen is detected
- Subject glow with colour and brightness
- Punch-ins aimed at the subject on detected moments
- Ghost trail on those same moments
- Tilt 3D, plus Hologram and AR HUD as later choices
- Center-pull look, film grain, and lens flare
You control
- Which video or still to upload
- Every toggle and preset on the Make It Pop card
- Glow colour and brightness
- Any resulting layer on the timeline
- Follow-up instructions to the editing agent
- Revert back to the original timeline
Made for footage with something to focus on.

Talking-head creators
A camera-facing take where you are already the picture. Make It Pop emphasizes you; it does not recut the delivery.

Reels and Shorts
A vertical or horizontal clip with a clear person in frame. Glow and punch-ins hold attention on them. Cutting a long video into clips is Make Clips.

Presenter and lesson videos
Someone on camera explaining. The person stays visually in front; the cut underneath does not move.

YouTube talking heads
A camera-facing YouTube take where the creator is the central focal point. Make It Pop isolates the speaker so they command attention across the video.

On-camera interviews
A person clearly in the chair. Make It Pop emphasizes who is on camera rather than grading the whole set.

Vlogs and story clips
Personal vlogs and daily stories with a central subject in dynamic environments. Make It Pop keeps focus locked on you against moving backgrounds.
Subject emphasis, not a whole-scene grade.

Make It Pop FAQs
They identify or isolate the main person in a frame, then use that mask or position to apply treatments selectively instead of uniformly across the whole picture. Cubix Make It Pop is a workflow built from those treatments.
It finds the main person and applies a subject glow, punch-ins aimed at them when there are moments to hit, a ghost trail on those moments, a 3D depth look, and finishing such as a center-pull look, grain, and flare. If text is already on the timeline, the subject can composite over it. The underlying cut stays put.
On-device person segmentation. A close, camera-facing subject uses a selfie-quality matte; wider shots can use a scene person model. Cubix probes the clip rather than guessing. A green screen, when detected, can also be keyed. This is built around people in the frame, not a general product-isolation tool.
No. It does not recut, reorder, or change clip duration. Shake, flash, and freeze live in Make it a Banger, not here.
Yes. After the pass, the Make It Pop card exposes the real controls: separate subject, separation strength, glow colour and brightness, ghost trail, punch zooms, subject over text, 3D depth, center-pull look, film grain, and lens flare. You can edit those on the card or the timeline. The editing agent can change the published Make It Pop tweaks, such as ghost trail, punch strength, depth look, grain, and flare.
Make It Pop emphasizes the subject — glow, punch-ins, depth, motion accents — so a person commands the frame. Cinematic Look is a whole-scene visual and colour treatment. They are different jobs. Running both is a choice, not a requirement.
Video Effects applies a look you pick on a clip: Black & White, Vignette, Bad TV, and other per-clip treatments. Make It Pop is a workflow that finds the subject first and drives several treatments from that subject. Use Video Effects when you want one shot to feel different by hand.
Footage with a clear person to focus on: talking-heads, facecam, presenters, interviews, Reels, and performance clips. Stills work for glow and finishing looks. Punch-ins and ghost trails need video with moments to hit. Busy frames with no main person give the matte less to lock onto.
Yes. Add a video or an image, then run Make It Pop. Stills get the subject glow and finishing looks. Punch-ins and ghost trails need video, because they land on detected moments.
