Troubleshooting common issues in Cubix

Step-by-step diagnostic guide for fixing upload failures, slow processing, export errors, and browser playback issues.

What this does

Provides instant solutions for the most common technical hurdles encountered during video editing or file uploading.

How to do it

Follow these step-by-step instructions in Cubix.

1

Video upload failing or stuck at 99%

Ensure your internet connection is stable. Disable browser adblocker extensions or VPNs, which can interrupt media uploads mid-transfer. Try uploading in Google Chrome, Brave, or Edge.

2

AI edit is taking longer than expected

Heavy 4K videos or long files (> 30 mins) require longer cloud processing times. Check system status or refresh your editor tab; your timeline state is automatically saved.

3

Export failed error message

Check if your source files are corrupted or missing from the media bin. Ensure your project doesn't exceed your plan's maximum export resolution.

4

Browser playback stuttering

Enable Hardware Acceleration in your browser settings (Settings → System → Use hardware acceleration when available). Closing other heavy tabs helps too — timeline playback competes with everything else for the same GPU.

5

An AI edit removed more than you expected

This is nearly always silence removal running on footage where the dead time is visual rather than audible — a screen recording, demo or gameplay capture is mostly unnarrated, so an audio-driven pass reads much of it as removable. One undo brings the whole pass back. Then describe the cut visually instead: 'cut the part where the page is loading'.

6

An effect looks doubled or too strong

Running the same pass twice layers its effects rather than intensifying them. Undo the second run, or open the pass's card and turn its intensity down. Asking for 'less shaky' adjusts what is applied; asking for the shake again adds another layer.

7

Captions are out of sync with the audio

Caption timing is derived from the timeline as it was when they were generated, so any structural change afterwards shifts them. Regenerate the captions once the cut is locked. If the words themselves are wrong rather than the timing, a straight text replacement fixes them without regenerating anything.

8

A pass says it is already applied

That is the editor protecting your edit, not an error. Open its card to adjust or revert it rather than trying to run it a second time.

Pro Tips for Best Results

  • Your timeline saves continuously, so refreshing the editor tab is a safe first thing to try and will not lose work.
  • Before reporting a problem, note what you asked for and what happened instead — the gap between the two is usually the whole diagnosis.
  • Check your remaining AI credits and storage in account settings if AI features stop responding; both are limits you can hit mid-session.

Our support engineering team monitors error logs 24/7 and typically responds within 1 hour.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions around this editing workflow.

Yes. Your timeline saves continuously, so a refresh loses nothing and is a reasonable first thing to try.
