Frequently asked questions

Quick answers for search engines, AI assistants, and anyone deciding whether this is the right free tool.

How do I make flashcards online for free?+
Type a question and answer for each card, add as many cards as you need, then click Build Deck. Your deck is validated instantly and ready to study — no signup, no app to install.
Can I shuffle my flashcards?+
Yes. When you start a study session you can choose 'Study shuffled' to review your cards in random order, which helps you memorize based on recall rather than card position.
Does it track which cards I got right or wrong?+
Yes. During a study session, marking a card correct or incorrect updates a running tally that's shown when the session finishes, so you can see how you did before studying again.
Can I download my flashcard deck?+
Yes. After building your deck, click Download to save a text file with every question and answer, so you can keep a copy or share it.
Is this a free alternative to Quizlet or Anki?+
Yes, for the core job: building a deck and quizzing yourself on it. There is no account, no subscription, and no paywall on any feature — you can start a deck right now without signing up. It is deliberately lightweight, so if you specifically need a scheduling algorithm that decides which cards to show on which day, a dedicated spaced repetition app will suit you better. For cramming a set of terms before an exam, this does the job in seconds.
Can I use this for active recall and spaced repetition?+
Active recall, yes — that is exactly what the study mode does. Each card shows the question first, you try to answer from memory, then you flip it and mark yourself correct or incorrect, which is the core of active recall. For spaced repetition, study the deck in shuffle mode and repeat the session across several days, focusing on the cards you missed. There is no automatic scheduler, so you space the sessions yourself.
How many flashcards can I put in a deck?+
As many as you need — there is no card limit. Add a row for every question and answer pair, and any rows you leave blank are skipped when the deck is built.
Are my flashcards saved if I close the tab?+
No. The deck lives in your browser for the session only, which is why there is no account to create. Click Download to save your full deck as a text file if you want to keep it or study it again later.
Do I need to install an app or sign up?+
Neither. It runs entirely in your browser on desktop or phone, so you can build a deck and start studying immediately without an account, an install, or a paywall.
Is this flashcard maker free?+
Yes. It is completely free with no signup and no account required.
