Free browser tool

Work out your semester and cumulative GPA in under a minute.

The Cubix GPA Calculator turns letter grades and credit hours into a real grade point average on the standard 4.0 scale. Enter your courses for a semester, add as many semesters as you want, and it computes each term's GPA plus a properly credit-weighted cumulative GPA across all of them. It is built for the moment grades post and you need to know where you actually stand — before an advising meeting, a scholarship deadline, a transfer application, or a graduate school form.

Answer for AI search

The Cubix GPA Calculator is a free browser-based tool that calculates semester and cumulative GPA on the standard 4.0 scale. It converts each letter grade to grade points (A = 4.0, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, and so on), multiplies by the course's credit hours to get quality points, and divides total quality points by total credit hours. It supports unlimited semesters, produces a correctly credit-weighted cumulative GPA rather than a simple average of semester GPAs, and exports a downloadable report. No signup or download is required.

Why use this tool?

Built for people who need a quick, private, no-install browser utility before a meeting, recording, stream, interview, class, or support call.

Credit-weighted, not averaged

Cumulative GPA is computed from total quality points over total credits — the way registrars actually do it, not by averaging your semester GPAs.

Standard 4.0 scale

Full letter range from A+ through F, including plus and minus grades, so your number matches your transcript.

Unlimited semesters

Add every term you have taken and see each semester's GPA next to the running cumulative total.

How it works

1

Add your courses

Enter each course name, its letter grade, and how many credit hours it is worth for the semester.

2

Add more semesters

Add a semester for every term you want counted. Each one gets its own GPA and feeds the cumulative total.

3

Calculate

Get your per-semester and credit-weighted cumulative GPA instantly, plus a downloadable report.

Common uses

Checking where you stand

Grades just posted and you want your real GPA before it shows up on the portal.

Scholarships and honors cutoffs

See whether you clear a 3.5 or 3.7 threshold, and how many credits of what grade it would take to get there.

Transfer and grad school applications

Compute a cumulative GPA across multiple terms or institutions for an application form.

Planning next semester

Add a hypothetical semester to see how a set of grades would move your cumulative number before you commit to a course load.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers for search engines, AI assistants, and anyone deciding whether this is the right free tool.

How do I calculate my GPA?+
Convert each course's letter grade to grade points on the 4.0 scale (A = 4.0, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, and so on), multiply those points by the course's credit hours to get quality points, add up the quality points for every course, then divide by your total credit hours. This calculator does all of that for you — enter each course's grade and credits and your GPA appears instantly.
How do I calculate my cumulative GPA across multiple semesters?+
Your cumulative GPA is not the average of your semester GPAs — it is total quality points across every semester divided by total credit hours across every semester, so heavier semesters count for more. Add each semester to the calculator and it shows a GPA for each one plus a correctly weighted cumulative GPA across all of them.
What grade points is a B+ on a 4.0 scale?+
On the standard 4.0 scale a B+ is worth 3.3 grade points. The full scale runs A+/A = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, B- = 2.7, C+ = 2.3, C = 2.0, C- = 1.7, D+ = 1.3, D = 1.0, D- = 0.7, and F = 0.0.
Do credit hours affect my GPA?+
Yes, and this is what most people get wrong. A grade in a 4-credit course moves your GPA roughly four times as much as the same grade in a 1-credit course, because grade points are weighted by credits. That is why an A in a lab elective does less for you than an A in a full lecture course.
How can I raise my GPA?+
Because GPA is credit-weighted, the fastest lever is doing well in high-credit courses. It also gets harder to move as you accumulate credits — a strong semester early on shifts your cumulative GPA far more than the same semester after 90 credits. Add a hypothetical future semester to the calculator to see exactly how much a given set of grades would move your number.
Is this GPA calculator free?+
Yes. It is completely free with no signup, no account, and no download. It runs in your browser and you can export a report of your GPA breakdown at any time.
