What does it mean to keep a subject in focus?
Keeping a subject in focus means treating the person as the picture — lighting them, quieting the edges, and framing toward them — without turning the rest of the edit into a new cut. What Spotlight Me actually applies

Finds the person in the clip
Cubix samples a mid-frame and locates the main person. Clips without a reliable person are skipped. This is not continuous live tracking through every frame.

Lights the subject
A soft radial light sits on the detected center. Subject light is on by default. Focus strength is Subtle, Balanced, or Strong — default Balanced.
Lit - 03
Calms the edges
Background focus darkens and quiets the periphery so the eye holds on the person. It is a gradient on the original picture, not a cut-out or green-screen key.
Calmed - 04
Optional subject-locked push-in
Subject framing eases from 1.00 toward a slight 1.06 push, aimed at the detected center, on clips about 2.5 seconds or longer. It is a toggle. Shorter clips skip it.

Leaves the cut and the ratio
No recut, reorder, or aspect-ratio change. Fitting 16:9 into 9:16 is Reframe. Subject glow, ghost trails, and 3D depth are Make It Pop.
