How to Plan Multiple Videos from One Webinar Recording

Map one recorded webinar into a full session, topic excerpt and Q&A clip. Preserve context, choose source ranges and review each deliverable in Cubix.

Quick Takeaway

Map your webinar into a session replay, topic excerpt or answered question only where the source supports each output. Record the source range and context needed, edit the outputs separately, and review the actual files with sound before sharing.

Choose the outputs the webinar supports

A session replay keeps the event sequence; an excerpt explains one topic; a Q&A clip needs its question or an existing restatement. Start with the outputs your recording supports, without a fixed clip quota. The requests below are instructional examples to adapt to your available footage, not tested recipes. Upload the source first, replace the placeholders, and review every change. The editing CTA opens editor Home; copy the request into your project after setup.

Map source ranges and context

Record the filename, start/end range, topic, question or setup, and any slide or earlier passage needed to understand it. These fictional ranges show how to make the decision; they are not timestamps from a tested recording.

Keep the setup that makes a clip understandable

An answer that starts with “Yes” may need its question; a slide demonstration may need an earlier definition. Preserve that setup or choose a longer range. A silent pause can be useful slide-reading time. Framing should follow the actual screen content, not a mandatory vertical crop.

Edit a focused topic excerpt

Upload the webinar file. Replace both [actual source words] placeholders with its recorded boundaries and [actual concept] with the topic to preserve. Identify the visible screen action or slide. Full-session cleanup and Social Clips candidate generation are separate jobs.

Example editing request
"Tighten the webinar passage starting “[actual source words]” and ending “[actual source words]”. Keep the explanation of [actual concept] and the slide or screen action needed to understand it. Preserve useful silent viewing time."
Review the result

Watch the joins, complete explanation and slide-reading time. If using Social Clips, review each candidate and open it in the full editor for supported corrections.

Keep a question and its complete answer

Replace [actual audience question] and [actual qualifying phrase] with words present in the available source. If the audience question is not recorded, use an existing speaker restatement where it provides enough context.

Example editing request

Copy and adapt this request after uploading the relevant footage.

Recommended Editing Command
"Edit the answer to “[actual audience question]” as a standalone excerpt. Retain the question or the speaker's existing restatement, and preserve “[actual qualifying phrase]”. If the available footage lacks the needed setup, keep a longer excerpt."
Review the result

Listen to the excerpt by itself. Confirm the setup, answer and qualification survived. If required footage is unavailable in the project, return to the original recording and choose a wider passage.

Review each exported deliverable

Open each exported MP4 and watch it with sound. Check slide readability, screen details, caption spelling, complete words and the ending. Keep a filename and review status for each output; an approved replay does not automatically approve all its excerpts.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
✖ Clipping webinar answers without keeping the audience question that gives them meaning.

Why it fails: Isolated answers force viewers to guess what problem is being addressed.

✔ Better approach: Check whether the question or existing restatement is in the available source. Select a wider passage when necessary, then review the complete opening.

✖ Cropping slide graphics so tightly that diagram text is cut off.

Why it fails: Illegible slides reduce the educational value of technical webinar excerpts.

✔ Better approach: Preserve wider framing when slides or screen demonstrations are displayed.

✖ Assuming every 45-minute webinar yields a fixed number of short clips.

Why it fails: Forcing arbitrary clip quotas results in incomplete, low-quality video fragments.

✔ Better approach: Only export clip candidates that contain complete, standalone explanations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions around this editing workflow.

Check that its idea, setup, qualifications and visuals make sense without the rest of the webinar. Use a longer excerpt when context is needed; skip passages that cannot stand alone.
